Terms of Service

Last updated September 6, 2026.

Product disclaimers

  • Self-tapes are filmed on your phone; ActAcross is the scene partner on your laptop.
  • The AI scene partner is a rehearsal aid. It is not professional acting coaching, casting advice, or legal advice.
  • You are responsible for having the rights to upload and rehearse any sides, scripts, or other materials you provide.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By creating an account, continuing in demo mode, or using ActAcross, you agree to these Terms of Service (the "Terms").

If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. What ActAcross is (and is not)

ActAcross is a web application that helps actors rehearse scripted scenes with an AI scene partner on their computer.

The app is a rehearsal aid only. It does not provide professional coaching, casting decisions, employment advice, or legal advice.

ActAcross does not record, store, or export audition videos. If you film a self-tape, you do so separately on your own device (for example, a phone). The computer is intended to sit beside that device and display the scene partner.

3. Your responsibilities for scripts and sides

You represent that you have the rights necessary to upload, paste, store, and rehearse any scripts, sides, or other materials you provide.

You must not upload content that infringes others' rights or that you are not authorized to use.

You remain solely responsible for how you use rehearsal output in auditions or elsewhere.

4. Accounts and acceptable use

You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping login credentials secure.

You agree not to misuse the service, attempt to disrupt it, reverse engineer it except where permitted by law, or use it to violate applicable law.

5. Plans, billing, and fair use

Referral offers, when available, are governed by the Referral program section below, including eligibility, payment confirmation, reward timing, and restrictions. Accepting those terms is required to claim an introductory referral offer.

ActAcross offers a free tier and paid subscriptions billed through our payment provider. Paid plans renew monthly until canceled; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Where plan features are described as "unlimited," this refers to your rehearsal activity: unlimited scenes, rehearsal sessions, and replays of previously generated partner audio. Generating new AI partner audio is computationally expensive and is subject to the fair-use limits below.

Fair use: if the volume of newly generated partner audio on an account in a calendar month substantially exceeds typical individual rehearsal use, new generations may be served with a lighter voice model and simplified delivery for the remainder of that month. Above a higher abuse threshold, new voice generation may be paused until the monthly window resets. Previously generated audio continues to play normally, and no scenes, notes, or other data are removed or lost.

These thresholds exist to prevent abuse and keep the service sustainable for everyone. They are set well above what an individual actor reaches through normal rehearsal, including heavy daily use. We may adjust the thresholds over time and will reflect material changes on this page. Accounts engaged in automated, scripted, shared, or resale use of voice generation may be suspended.

6. Referral program

An eligible friend gets 30% off the first paid month of ActAcross Pro: $9.09 instead of $12.99, before applicable tax. Pro then renews at $12.99 per month until canceled. The referring member earns 30% off one eligible future monthly Pro renewal after that friend's first payment qualifies. Existing Pro members with an older monthly price receive 30% off their applicable price. The offer applies only to the monthly Pro plan billed in US dollars, not Pro Live or other products.

This is a launch pilot lasting up to 90 days. The offer page and your referral panel show the campaign's closing date when it is open. If the offer says it is unavailable, new claims are closed. A claim's purchase deadline is the earlier of 30 days after acceptance or the campaign's closing time. New claims close 31 minutes before the campaign ends. Checkout must begin at least 31 minutes before your purchase deadline and payment must complete by the deadline. The exact deadline appears after you claim.

Both participants need their own ActAcross account with a verified email address. A friend must never have held a paid ActAcross subscription or previously redeemed a referral introduction. An existing Free member can qualify; a former subscriber cannot. One introduction is allowed per person, including across replacement accounts. You cannot refer yourself, share accounts, or create duplicate identities to earn rewards.

Opening a link does not claim an offer. Sign in, enter or confirm the code, and accept these terms. The first valid code you explicitly claim stays attached to your account; it cannot be replaced with another member's code. You may instead buy Pro at the regular price, but a completed subscription makes you ineligible for the introductory offer. A code can be shared with multiple different eligible friends; the same friend cannot generate another reward by reusing it, canceling, or subscribing again.

The friend must complete the qualifying discounted first payment through ActAcross checkout. Trials, failed or unpaid invoices, zero-cost invoices, manually marked paid invoices, and payments covered by account credit do not qualify. We verify the payment and wait 14 days after it is collected. A refund or payment dispute can prevent or delay a reward.

One reward applies to one eligible full monthly Pro renewal after it becomes available. Rewards are used in the order they become eligible. Several referrals give you discounts on several renewal months; they do not combine into a larger discount or a free month. An invoice that is already finalized, a partial-period charge, or a month with another discount is not eligible; your reward waits for a later eligible renewal. The expected renewal date in Settings is an estimate, not a guarantee that a pending reward will apply on that date.

Free members can earn rewards, which wait for a future Pro renewal. Canceling pauses their use. Unused earned rewards do not expire while your account exists, including after the campaign closes. Deleting your account forfeits unused rewards. Rewards have no cash value, cannot be transferred, and cannot be combined with other promotions on the same invoice.

A full or partial refund of the qualifying payment cancels its pending or unused reward. A dispute suspends it while the payment is reviewed; if the payment is upheld, the same unused reward can become eligible again. We may need to finish reconciling a renewal invoice before releasing or applying a reward. If a reward has already been used when its source payment is refunded or disputed, we flag it for review; this program does not automatically debit your account to recover it. Statutory refund and consumer rights are unaffected.

We may reject fraudulent or self-referrals, suspend suspected abuse for review, or stop accepting new claims. Closing new claims does not cancel valid accepted offers or earned rewards. Contact support@actacross.com if you think a referral was incorrectly rejected or a billing discount is missing.

Share only with people who would welcome the invitation. Clearly disclose that you may receive a discount if they subscribe; the provided share message includes that disclosure. Do not send spam, publish misleading claims, buy referrals, or impersonate ActAcross. You choose where to share your link. ActAcross does not ask you to upload a friend's email address or send invitations on their behalf.

We store the claimed code, terms acceptance, account and billing identifiers, payment status, and reward history to operate the program and prevent repeat use. Your referrer sees reward totals and status, not your email address or payment details. Your browser may remember an unclaimed code for up to 30 days so you can return after signing in; this does not automatically attribute your purchase.

To prevent repeated introductory discounts after email changes or account deletion, we retain protected hashes of verified email addresses and the billing identity while an account exists and for up to three years after deletion. Hashes are pseudonymous, not anonymous. After that period we remove those identity links; minimal historical account, claim, invoice, and reward references remain to fulfill and reconcile earned rewards and resolve billing issues. See the Privacy Policy for other data practices.

7. AI-generated and automated features

Scene-partner speech, timing, and related features may use automated systems and third-party service providers (for example speech recognition and text-to-speech).

Outputs can be imperfect. You should review rehearsal behavior and not rely on the product as a substitute for professional judgment.

8. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy. By using ActAcross you also acknowledge that policy.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ACTACROSS AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, AUDITION OUTCOMES, OR DATA LOSS ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable law.

10. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be reflected by updating the version date on this page and, where appropriate, requesting renewed acknowledgment in the product.

For questions about these Terms, contact us through the ActAcross website.
